born Home Interventions Study (Newhints)

  Materials for mothers

CBSVs present each pregnant woman with a Family Card during their first visit. This card has an ante-natal section where all appointments for Newhints visits, contact details for CBSV, and drawings of danger signs in pregnancy are noted. The post-natal section contains information on the date of delivery, timing of first visit after delivery, birth weight and colour category, any referrals, and drawings of essential care practices such as breastfeeding, sleeping under bednet, weighing, immunizations, and going to hospital if baby is sick or very small.
